A series of deadly attacks rocked Pakistan on Wednesday, leaving 11 people dead, including eight security personnel and three civilians. The incidents took place in the volatile provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where armed militants targeted both military and police forces.
According to officials, one of the deadliest attacks occurred in the Kirdgab area of Mastung district in Balochistan. A roadside bomb exploded as a vehicle carrying security officers passed by. Three members of the security forces were killed instantly, while three others were injured. The Pakistani military confirmed that the explosion happened Tuesday evening and was triggered by an improvised explosive device planted along the road.
In a separate attack, militants belonging to the outlawed group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) opened fire on a Frontier Corps vehicle in the Aman Kot area of Karak district. The ambush killed three security personnel and the civilian driver of the vehicle.
Another Frontier Corps soldier was killed in Lakki Marwat’s railway station area during a gun attack by unidentified assailants.
Meanwhile, in Peshawar, a late-night shooting claimed the lives of a police officer and two civilians. The officer was traveling in a car with friends when gunmen on motorcycles sprayed bullets at the vehicle. According to senior police official Madoos Bangash, four attackers riding two motorcycles were involved. Investigators recovered around 65 spent bullet casings from the scene.
So far, no group has officially claimed responsibility for the attacks, but authorities suspect the involvement of armed extremist factions operating in the region.
These back-to-back assaults highlight the rising threat to law enforcement and civilians in Pakistan’s western provinces, where insurgent activities have surged in recent months.
