DBL Ceramics has won two Merit Awards at The One Show 2026 for its sustainability initiative, TileChalk. The recognition makes DBL Ceramics the first Bangladeshi ceramics brand to receive honors at one of the world’s most prestigious creative competitions.
DBL Ceramics’ innovative TileChalk campaign has received Merit Awards in both the Green Pencil and Sustainable Development Goals Pencil categories at The One Show 2026, an internationally respected awards program recognizing creative ideas that drive positive change.
TileChalk is a sustainability initiative developed by DBL Ceramics that converts ceramic sludge, a waste byproduct from tile manufacturing, into classroom chalk. The project addresses two critical challenges simultaneously: reducing industrial waste and providing essential learning materials to underprivileged schools.
This latest achievement places DBL Ceramics among globally recognized brands and highlights Bangladesh’s growing presence in sustainability-driven innovation. Prior to The One Show, TileChalk had already earned international acclaim, winning awards at Spikes Asia, ADFEST, and The AdForum PHNX Tribute 2026.
To maximize its social impact, DBL Ceramics has made the TileChalk formula open-source, allowing manufacturers worldwide to adopt the process free of charge.
DBL Ceramics Chief Business Officer Mohammad Bayazed Bashar said, the company was “happy and humbled” by the recognition. He noted that while the awards are encouraging, the project’s true success lies in achieving zero dumping at DBL factories and delivering educational tools to children in need.
The recognition underscores how creativity can extend beyond advertising to solve pressing environmental and social issues.
DBL Ceramics says it will continue investing in sustainable innovation that creates meaningful value for both communities and the environment.
