Allegedly, before the election results were announced, the Trinamool leader of Jhar Alta No. 2 village panchayat posted an offensive post on his Facebook account about the then leader of opposition in the assembly, Subhendu Adhikari. Political tension was created around that post.

However, the BJP did not take any action on the issue before the election results were announced. After the change of power in the state government, the BJP objected and demanded to delete the post and publicly apologize. In a meeting at Khattimari School Chowpati area on Tuesday, Jagabandhu Roy apologized for his post and assured to refrain from such acts in future.

Regarding the matter, BJP's local mandal vice-president Prasenjit Sarkar said, "He admitted his mistake. He said, don't make such a mistake again. Since he himself admitted his mistake and said that it will not happen again, we have forgiven him."
