British rock musician Yungblud has revealed that he will undergo surgery later this year following a recurring health battle that has forced him to cancel multiple performances. The artist shared the personal update with his fanbase after being compelled to withdraw from an upcoming festival appearance in Norway.

The 28-year-old singer, whose legal name is Dominic Richard Harrison, disclosed his medical plans in a voice message posted to his Instagram broadcast channel on Thursday. He confirmed that he will have his tonsils removed in October after a fresh bout of tonsillitis made it impossible for him to perform at Norway's Tons of Rock festival.

"I'm getting my tonsils out," Harrison stated in the audio recording. He explained that the rigorous demands of his recent touring schedule, which included a UK run followed by immediate dates in the United States and three back-to-back festivals, exacerbated his condition. The artist noted that he had been on antibiotics for several days leading up to the cancellation.

The decision to proceed with surgery follows a pattern of health setbacks that have disrupted his live performances. Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning artist was forced to postpone several UK shows due to the same issue, with medical professionals repeatedly advising him to rest his vocal cords to prevent further damage.

Despite the disappointment of missing the Norwegian date, Harrison assured fans that he remains committed to performing at Bludfest, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 27.
