Harry Styles gave fans a fright during his Wembley Stadium concert on Friday when he appeared to choke on water and briefly collapsed onstage. The "As It Was" singer, 32, was performing his closing number when he suddenly fell to the ground after a signature move gone wrong .

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment Styles attempted his well-known "whale" routine, which involves spraying water into the air. After spitting the water, he seemed to choke on the remaining liquid, stumbling backward and falling onto his back . He lay on the stage for approximately 17 seconds, coughing and covering his mouth as he appeared to struggle for breath . After managing to recover, he rose to his feet, reassured the crowd that he was fine, and continued with the show .

The incident occurred as the United Kingdom experienced a historic heatwave. On Friday, the country recorded its hottest June day for the third consecutive time, with temperatures reaching 37.3 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit) in some areas and soaring to around 97 degrees Fahrenheit in London . The stifling conditions at the outdoor venue left Styles visibly sweating through his shirt after just the first two songs .

The extreme heat prompted Wembley Stadium to implement temporary hot-weather measures, including reducing bottled water prices by 50% and allowing fans to bring reusable water bottles . Styles also addressed the conditions at the start of the show, urging the 80,000 attendees to look after each other and stay hydrated .

Fans quickly took to social media expressing concern, with many questioning why security did not immediately check on the star . Despite the worrying moment, Styles returned to the stage the following night for his next scheduled performance, indicating he had recovered from the ordeal .
