The radio personality shared a particularly amusing detail about the gridlock leading to Madison Square Garden, where the lavish celebration took place. "The traffic was so bad that Bella had time to go for a p**s and then jump back in the car, which had moved 2 metres," he joked, referring to his wife, author and journalist Bella Mackie .
James also posted a sweet photograph of himself and Mackie dressed for the occasion, offering followers a glimpse of their formal attire for the "wedding of the century" .
The invitation came about during a lighthearted exchange on James's Radio 1 show in October 2025. After James joked about wanting to meet Kelce, Swift laughed and assured him he would have the chance at their wedding, adding that he was "obviously" invited .
The nuptials took place on Friday, July 3, at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden, with approximately 1,000 guests in attendance. Among the celebrity attendees were Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Brad Pitt . Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony, and the venue was illuminated with billboards reading "JUST&T MARRIED!" following the event .

James described the event as an "unbelievably brilliant night" and confirmed that Swift had kept her word with the invitation .
