Amy Schumer Pokes Fun at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Star-Studded Wedding With Hilarious Photo

Amy Schumer is not letting the lack of a wedding invitation stop her from joining in on the celebration—at least in her own comedic way. The comedian has posted a second joke about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's lavish wedding, just one day after her initial social media jab at the high-profile couple.

The 45-year-old actress shared a photo on Instagram featuring herself in a wedding gown and sparkling tiara alongside actor Michael Cera. The image was taken from a wedding scene in their 2022 series Life & Beth. Schumer kept the caption short and pointed, writing, "Okay so why weren't we allowed in?"

The post came just one day after her Instagram Stories update on Thursday, which was posted during the couple's rehearsal dinner. In that message, Schumer wrote with intentional grammatical errors for comedic effect, "Rehersal dinner was sick. Who know was she has planned for us tonight." She accompanied that post with a photo of herself wearing an eclectic outfit consisting of a black crewneck, red shorts, a pink fanny pack, a polka dot scarf, and a straw hat.

The jokes carry additional weight given the scale and impact of the actual wedding festivities. Swift and Kelce tied the knot on Friday at Madison Square Garden, hosting approximately 1,000 guests for the ceremony. The venue's iconic advertising boards displayed "JusT&T Married" at 7:30 p.m. EST, confirming the news to the thousands of New Yorkers passing through the area.

The wedding caused significant disruption throughout Midtown Manhattan, with Penn Station being temporarily shut down during a severe heatwave that saw temperatures approach 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Many New Yorkers expressed frustration over the traffic and transportation delays caused by the event.

Security measures rivaled those of a presidential visit, with approximately 130 NYPD officers and more than 50 detectives assigned to manage the crowd and ensure the safety of the celebrity guests. As a native New Yorker raised on the Upper East Side, Schumer likely had more than one reason to feel playfully left out of the festivities.

Further details about the ceremony were confirmed through Swift's longtime publicist Tree Paine. Actor Adam Sandler officiated the wedding, while Swift's brother Austin served as her man of honor. Jason Kelce, Travis's brother, acted as the best man, with no bridesmaids or groomsmen in the wedding party.

The guest list featured numerous A-list celebrities, including Dakota Johnson, Zoë Kravitz, Gigi Hadid, Hugh Grant, Bradley Cooper, and Camila Cabello. Music legend Stevie Nicks was among the performers expected to entertain at the reception. Industry insiders estimate the total cost of the wedding reached approximately $15 million.

Schumer has previously addressed rumors of any tension between herself and Swift. She has maintained that there is no feud between them, and her publicist once clarified that a 2016 joke about Swift's appearance was meant to be self-deprecating rather than a personal attack on the singer.

Whether Swift has taken notice of Schumer's latest wedding-related posts remains unclear. Given that the singer was occupied with her own celebration and surrounded by close friends and family, the jokes likely did little to affect the joyous occasion. Schumer's fans, however, continue to appreciate her signature humor and willingness to poke fun at even the most high-profile events in pop culture.
