Harry Styles brought his record-breaking 12-night Wembley Stadium residency to an emotional close over the weekend, pausing during his final performance to deliver a heartfelt tribute to the four men who helped launch his career.
The 32-year-old pop star, who completed the London leg of his "Together, Together" world tour on Saturday, became the first artist to perform 12 shows at the iconic venue during a single run . His achievement surpasses Coldplay’s 10-night stint last summer and eclipses the eight-night record previously held by Taylor Swift .
Addressing a crowd of approximately 80,000 fans, Styles became visibly moved as he reflected on his journey from reality television contestant to global superstar .
“I wouldn’t be on this stage if it wasn’t for four friends of mine that were a massive part of this journey,” he told the audience. “I want to thank Niall, Louis, Zayn and my dear friend Liam. These nights and everything that I learned in this time, the friendship, everything—none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you so much.”
The tribute carried special significance as it marked one of Styles’ most direct public acknowledgments of Liam Payne since the former One Direction member’s death in October 2024 at the age of 31 . Reports indicate that Payne’s parents and sister were in attendance for the emotional finale .
Styles also took a moment to reflect on his origins, noting that 16 years ago, just outside Wembley, he was placed into a band that changed his life during his time on The X Factor in 2010 . One Direction went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands in history before going on indefinite hiatus in 2016 .
The residency, originally scheduled for six nights, was extended due to overwhelming demand . Wembley Stadium marked the occasion by unveiling a commemorative banner honoring Styles’ record .
The "Watermelon Sugar" singer’s sister, Gemma Styles, also joined him on stage during the final night, delivering a rare public speech congratulating him on his achievements .
Styles will continue his "Together, Together" tour with upcoming dates in São Paulo, Mexico City, New York City, Melbourne, and Sydney .
