The family of Katie Price has broken their silence regarding her tumultuous four-year marriage to singer Peter Andre, describing the relationship as increasingly difficult and controlling behind closed doors. In a new documentary, Price’s mother, brother, and sister recount the tension that ultimately led to the couple’s highly publicized split, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into the former glamour model’s personal struggles. The revelations come as Price prepares to share her own unfiltered account in her latest television project, which promises to shed new light on one of Britain’s most talked-about celebrity unions.
Price and Andre married in a lavish ceremony at Highclere Castle in Hampshire in September 2005, the historic estate famously known as the setting for the hit period drama Downton Abbey. The star-studded event was a media spectacle, with close friends Kerry Katona, Sarah Harding, and Michelle Heaton serving as bridesmaids. The couple secured a reported £1.75 million deal with OK! magazine for exclusive photography rights, cementing their status as one of the UK’s most prominent celebrity couples at the time.
However, behind the glitz and glamour, Price’s family now claims that Andre’s lifestyle created a stifling environment at home. In the documentary, titled Katie Price: Nothing To Hide, her mother disclosed that Andre, along with manager Claire Powell, exerted significant control over Price’s daily life. She noted that Andre disapproved of Price’s drinking habits and often criticized her choice of clothing, which contributed to a growing sense of restriction.
Price’s brother, Dan, echoed those sentiments, explaining that Andre’s non-drinking lifestyle made it difficult for his sister to relax socially. He stated that Price could not enjoy a glass of wine at home and was discouraged from going out, which led to mounting frustration. Meanwhile, her sister Sophie described the atmosphere as "nuts" and highlighted how the relationship became overwhelmingly tense, noting that the environment grew increasingly toxic as time went on.
The strain reportedly intensified after the couple relocated to the United States, where the disintegration of their marriage was captured for their reality television show. While Price has previously spoken about the relationship, this documentary marks one of the most detailed accounts from her perspective, as well as the first time her family has spoken so openly about the marriage’s decline.
Now 48, Price reflects in the documentary on her time with Andre as both a cherished chapter and a painful turning point. She describes the early years as some of the happiest of her life but acknowledges that the relationship eventually soured in ways that were difficult to navigate publicly and privately. The documentary aims to present her side of the story without the filter of tabloid headlines or public speculation.
Katie Price: Nothing To Hide is set to premiere on Sky and the streaming service Now on July 8. The film offers viewers a raw and personal look at her life beyond the headlines, exploring her relationships, personal challenges, and the lessons learned from very public highs and devastating lows.
