Target shoppers can now buy a limited-edition collaboration between Pokémon and Owala, with five new FreeSip water bottle designs released as a Target exclusive on Sept. 16. SheKnows reported that the collection went live online and in stores at 6 a.m. PT/9 a.m. ET, with each bottle priced at $29.99.
The drop arrives amid broader 30th anniversary celebrations tied to the Pokémon brand and a steady stream of new merchandise that has accompanied recent collectible and trading card game releases. According to SheKnows, the Target-exclusive launch includes five new 16-ounce Owala FreeSip bottles featuring Pokémon-themed artwork: “Pikachu I Choose You,” “Gengar In The Shadows,” “Eevee Evolutions,” “Kanto First Partners,” and “Charizard Brings The Heat.”
Owala’s FreeSip line has become a popular format in the reusable bottle market by combining two drinking options in one lid design. SheKnows described the bottles as leak-proof and designed to keep beverages cold for up to 24 hours. The bottle includes a built-in straw for sipping and a wide-mouth opening, giving users the option to drink through the straw or take a larger sip directly from the top.
Cleaning details are also part of the appeal for consumers who use bottles daily. The outlet noted the FreeSip design includes a dishwasher-safe lid, while the cup itself is hand-wash only.
The collaboration is exclusive to Target, meaning shoppers looking for the five Pokémon designs will need to purchase through Target’s website, app, or physical stores rather than directly from Owala or other retailers. SheKnows said the bottles were positioned as giftable items ahead of the holiday season, and the outlet cautioned that availability could be tight given the intensity of demand often seen for limited Pokémon merchandise.
That kind of rush has become a familiar feature of the modern Pokémon retail ecosystem. In the U.S., the franchise has expanded far beyond video games into a major collectibles and lifestyle category, and special drops—whether in trading cards or branded collaborations—can attract both dedicated fans and resale interest. Retail exclusives, in particular, tend to generate extra competition because they concentrate supply in a single storefront network.
For shoppers who missed the initial wave, SheKnows said there was no confirmed restock information at the time of publication. The outlet noted that if restock plans become available later, it would update readers.
While the Pokémon x Owala collaboration is one of many anniversary-adjacent products hitting shelves this year, it reflects a broader trend: major entertainment brands increasingly partner with everyday consumer goods companies—such as drinkware—to reach fans outside traditional toy and gaming aisles.
Limited-edition Pokémon merchandise has become a significant retail story in the U.S., with drops frequently selling out quickly as collecting culture and brand collaborations continue to grow. Target exclusives can be especially competitive because they compress demand into one retailer’s inventory. For consumers, the release also highlights how reusable drinkware brands like Owala have turned design and pop-culture tie-ins into a key part of product strategy.
For now, the five Pokémon designs are available through Target while supplies last, with restock plans still unclear.
