The Prince of Wales has recorded an emotional video tribute to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, sharing cherished personal memories and offering the public a rare glimpse into her private life.

In the message, recorded at Windsor Castle, Prince William recalled spending quiet afternoons with the Queen and his grandfather, Prince Philip, during his school days at nearby Eton College.

The future king described seeing the monarch completely at ease, surrounded by family, her beloved dogs, and horses—a side of her the public rarely witnessed.

"Whilst I had the privilege to know the late Queen better than most, some of my fondest memories of my grandmother are from here in Windsor," William shared in the video. "I remember many a quiet afternoon having tea with her and my grandfather at the castle, chatting, sharing stories, and seeing how completely at ease she was here."

The Prince also revealed that the late Queen instilled in him a lasting appreciation for teatime, noting that watching her ride horses in Windsor Great Park, even in her later years, showed a side of "Granny" that was "off-duty, relaxed, and utterly at home."

“These moments with my grandmother are ones I’ll always hold dear," he concluded.

The tribute forms part of the Queen Elizabeth Digital Memorial, an online archive launched on what would have been the monarch's 100th birthday in April.

The Cabinet Office-led project invites both the public and notable figures to share their own memories and thoughts about Britain's longest-reigning sovereign.

The memorial also features archival material, photography, and video from key events throughout the Queen's historic 70-year reign.

Prince William's appearance follows the Princess of Wales's recent completion of a significant personal milestone, drawing renewed public attention to the royal family.

The video offers a poignant reminder of the close bond the Prince shared with his grandmother, who passed away in September 2022 at the age of 96.
