New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a four-hour long high-level meeting with the secretaries of various ministries and departments of the central government at 'Seva Tirtha' in New Delhi. Two important issues were mainly emphasized in the meeting. Strengthening 'Ease of Doing Business' and 'Ease of Living' and 'Self-reliant India'.
In the meeting, the secretaries of various ministries and departments said what steps their departments have taken to implement these two goals. Besides, there was a discussion about what can be done to make the developmental ideas of the Prime Minister a reality. In this day's meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will become a developed country by 2047.
The Prime Minister said that the goal should be achieved within 100 years of independence. Every level of administration has to work quickly and efficiently. In particular, he directed the secretaries to be vigilant to ensure that there is no negligence or undue delay in the implementation of civil services and government projects.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister laid special emphasis on integrated administrative system or 'whole-of-government'. He said, coordination between various ministries and departments should be increased and the tendency to work separately should be removed. To that end, he urged to ensure wider use of 'PM Gati Shakti' platform for data-based decision making and integrated planning.
At the same time, the Prime Minister instructed the secretaries that the success of government projects should be prioritized not only on the basis of implementation, but also on how much its actual impact is on the lives of common people.
