Bangladesh has just marked a groundbreaking moment in its high-tech export sector. For the first time, Walton, the country’s leading electronics and tech brand, has begun exporting motherboards (PCB and PCBA) to the United States.

These world-class Walton motherboards will now be used in advanced gunshot detection and emergency response security systems in America. Knowing that Bangladeshi-made hardware is being installed in life-saving devices abroad is a moment of immense pride for the nation’s high-tech industry.

With this export to the US, Walton has unlocked massive potential for Bangladesh’s presence in the global tech market.

On Monday (September 15, 2025), Walton hosted a grand event at its corporate office in Dhaka to celebrate the achievement.

Officials revealed that Walton is initially shipping over 2,500 motherboards worth around 2.5 million Bangladeshi taka to Safepro Technologies Inc., a Wisconsin-based IT company. Safepro is well-known for its vital role in providing advanced safety systems for American schools and institutions, protecting lives during emergencies.

This means Walton’s hardware is now officially part of critical US security devices.

Walton is currently the only PCB manufacturer in Bangladesh. These motherboards will be installed in security devices at schools and institutions across the US. The devices can instantly detect illegal shootings, issue alerts, and help coordinate rapid rescue operations. Using both audio and visual signals, the systems ensure immediate response, moving people to safety and preventing further harm.

Fayez Ahmed Taiyeb proudly stated, “The country that has Silicon Valley is now importing our motherboards. This is historic for Walton and Bangladesh.”

He highlighted that the global PCB and PCBA market is worth nearly $80 billion and is expected to grow by another $30 billion within the next 5–6 years. Walton’s entry into the US marks its first step into this massive global industry.

ICT Secretary Shish Haydar Chowdhury added, “The most advanced country in the world, the USA, is importing high-tech products like motherboards from Bangladesh. This is not just Walton’s achievement—it’s a historic success for our nation.”

Safepro’s Paul L. Eckert praised Walton for becoming a symbol of “innovation, quality, and trust” in electronics manufacturing. He emphasized that Walton’s motherboards will significantly enhance the quality of their security devices.

SM Rezaul Alam noted that Walton has already exported over 10,000 PCBs and PCBAs to Greece, proving its capability to deliver advanced hardware internationally. By producing these components locally, Walton not only saves foreign exchange but also provides fast and affordable supply to Bangladeshi entrepreneurs.

He further revealed that Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Ltd. are merging to strengthen software and hardware integration. This will also make large-scale production of electric bikes and lithium batteries much easier in Bangladesh.

At the same event, Walton unveiled two new models of its eco-friendly Takion electric bikes (e-bikes). With modern design, powerful motors, long-lasting batteries, and a running cost of just 10–15 poisha per kilometer, these e-bikes are expected to become a smart and sustainable mobility solution for both urban and rural users.
