The TOAB Progressive Unity Alliance, a contesting panel in the upcoming Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh election, organized a special event titled “Sufi Nights and Dinner” on June 13 at a convention hall in Nayapaltan, Dhaka. The program began at 7:00 PM and was attended by TOAB members, tourism industry stakeholders, and distinguished guests from across the sector.

Featuring Sufi music performances, informal discussions, and a dinner gathering, the event aimed to strengthen professional relationships and foster greater cooperation among tourism industry participants. Organizers described the occasion as more than a social event, calling it an important platform for promoting unity and collaboration within Bangladesh’s tourism sector ahead of the election.

During the program, panel chief and presidential candidate Dr. Taslim Amin Shovon emphasized the need for a strong, united, and sustainable tourism industry. Representatives of the alliance stated that Bangladesh’s tourism sector currently requires experienced leadership, transparency, and collective efforts to unlock its full potential. They also reaffirmed their commitment to industry development, inclusiveness, and responsible leadership.

Several prominent figures attended the event, including former TOAB presidents Taufiq Uddin Ahmed and Faridul Haque, BOTOA President Syed Golam Mohammad, Travel Canvas Editor Syed Golam Kadir, and BFTD Executive Director Rezaul Ekram Raju, among others. The event was hosted by senior journalist Pronob Saha and coordinated by Chowdhury Hasanuzzaman Rony and Abdullah Al Kafi.
