A Bengaluru court has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against popular actor Prakash Raj for allegedly possessing voter ID cards or voters' lists in multiple states. This directive has raised the possibility of the actor's arrest. The case started in 2019.

Lawyer Dilip Kumar filed a written complaint against Prakash Raj at the Halasuru Gate police station in Bengaluru. The complaint claims that Prakash Raj has voter ID cards in four states of the country, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. If this allegation is proved to be true, it is a gross violation of the country's election rules.

Complainant Dilip Kumar claimed that no action was taken by the police even after reporting the complaint to the police station. He then approached the Bangalore City Police Commissioner and the Election Commission of India (ECI). But without getting any response or response from there, he finally moved the court.

As per the Election Commission of India rules, any citizen of the country can be registered as a voter only in a particular place. It is also a punishable offense to have the name or card in the voter list in more than one place at the same time. It is alleged in the case that Prakash Raj broke this rule.

It is learned that the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) court number 48 in Bengaluru had earlier summoned the actor twice to appear in person in connection with the case. But both times Prakash Raj did not appear before the court. The Magistrate's Court has expressed anger over his failure to appear in court despite repeated summonses.

A non-bailable warrant has been issued against Prakash Raj in view of his continuous absence.
