Minister of Post and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Ministry of Science & Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam and Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser Rehan Asif Asad inaugurate Walton’s PCBA export shipment to the United States by cutting a ribbon during their visit to Walton Headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur

Bangladesh has taken another step forward in high-tech manufacturing as Walton officially launched the export shipment of its locally produced Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, or PCBAs, to the United States. The inauguration took place at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC headquarters in Gazipur on Thursday, marking a significant milestone for the country’s technology sector.

In a major boost for Bangladesh’s growing technology industry, global technology manufacturer Walton has officially inaugurated the export of its advanced Printed Circuit Board Assemblies, known as PCBAs, to the United States. The launch ceremony was held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC’s headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur.

The export shipment was formally inaugurated by Minister of Post and Telecommunication, ICT Division and Ministry of Science and Technology Faqir Mahbub Anam, alongside Prime Minister’s ICT Adviser Rehan Asif Asad. They launched the shipment by cutting a ribbon during a ceremony attended by government officials, lawmakers, and senior Walton executives.

The PCBAs manufactured by Walton in Bangladesh will be used in advanced security devices integrated into gunshot detection and emergency response systems in the United States. The products are being imported by SAFEPRO Technologies Inc., a Wisconsin-based company recognized for providing security solutions to educational institutions and public facilities across America.

The export initiative reflects Walton’s continued expansion into international markets and highlights Bangladesh’s increasing role in the global technology supply chain. Beyond serving its own production requirements and domestic demand, Walton has been exporting PCBAs and a range of technology products to countries around the world.

During their visit, the minister and the Prime Minister’s ICT adviser toured Walton’s modern manufacturing facilities, including the Surface Mount Technology motherboard production unit, television panel clean room, PCB manufacturing plant, and mold and die facilities. They also attended a documentary presentation showcasing the company’s development and achievements.

Speaking at the event, Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam praised Walton’s technological capabilities and manufacturing standards. He said, “Walton is amazing. We are highly impressed by the scale, sophistication and quality of its manufacturing facilities. Walton has demonstrated that Bangladesh is capable of producing world-class technology products.” He also described Walton as a source of national pride and emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting local industries.

The minister noted that the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 budget includes measures designed to encourage domestic manufacturing and improve the global competitiveness of Bangladeshi companies through enhanced incentives and tax policy reviews.

Walton has emerged as one of Bangladesh’s leading technology manufacturers, producing a wide range of products including refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, electrical appliances, and industrial solutions. The company also operates dedicated facilities for research, innovation, quality control, and international business development.

Currently, Walton products carrying the “Made in Bangladesh” label are exported to more than 55 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. With ambitions to expand into over 100 countries, the company aims to strengthen its position as a globally recognized technology brand while contributing to Bangladesh’s transformation into a hub for advanced manufacturing.

For now, this export milestone signals another important achievement for Bangladesh’s technology sector and its growing presence in international markets.
