Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is set to return to the silver screen with his highly anticipated action-packed film 'King,' which also marks the debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. Following his 2023 release 'Dunki,' fans have eagerly awaited his next project. 'King' is generating buzz not only for its high voltage action but also for reportedly being one of the most expensive films in Shah Rukh Khan's career.
According to insiders, the film's budget is estimated to be around 450 crore INR, excluding print and promotion costs. The film is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan's own production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, and this budget does not include his remuneration. If accurate, this budget surpasses Shah Rukh's previous mega-hit 'Jawan,' which had a budget of approximately 300 crore INR.
However, director Siddharth Anand addressed these budget rumors on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), posting a single word: "False." While he did not specify which reports were false, many netizens interpret this as a denial of the 450 crore figure. The film also features Abhishek Bachchan in the antagonist role, along with actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Saurabh Shukla. Shooting for 'King' began in May 2025 and is expected to wrap up by August 2025.
The film promises extensive use of VFX and is scheduled for release on December 24, 2025. Fans are excited to see Shah Rukh Khan share the screen with his daughter Suhana for the first time, and industry observers are keen to see whether 'King' will set new box office records. This film could potentially mark a significant milestone in both Shah Rukh Khan's and Suhana Khan's careers, indicating a new chapter in Bollywood's high-budget action genre.
